In this workshop, participants will learn how to:
This workshop is designed to assist front-line workers with engagement strategies to enhance their relationships with at-risk youth.
Community agencies invest significant resources in program design and implementation. What is often overlooked is the ability of staff to build effective and positive relationships with youth. There are many factors to consider when discussing relationship building and it is not always easy to quantify its measures or outcomes. Inter-generational gap between youth and staff, language proficiency of youth, lived experiences and personal biases all play a role in determining how to go about establishing positive relationships. It is critical to remember that building relatinoships is organic and requires a fluid process that takes into considerations the skill set of staff and the needs of youth.
Let this workshop provide you with practical tools for relationships to be fostered through trust, empowerment, and vulnerability!
We recognize the capacity and resources of community organizations can at times, be limited and we will work with your organization to find the right price to offer this workshop to your staff. Please contact nabeel.rahman@positivethought.ca to discuss pricing options.
